Add my 2.5 Gallons of water. Normally i start out with 2 but this is a new brew pot and a wider one.. So the Cubic with has changed. GOOD clean water is KEY!

Lets add some Grains Shall we ? For this batch i am doing the version that i posted.. So in my Grain bag i have 2-Row Brewers Malt 1.0 lb,2-Row Carapils Malt 8.0 oz , Caramel 60L Malt 8.0 oz .
The 2-Row Brewers Malt will give the yeast a LOT of sugars to eat.
The 2-Row Carapils Malt will give it some sweet caramel flavoring.
And the Caramel 60L Malt Will add a full caramel/toffee ending taste and body to the beer. As you can see i am shooting for the original Lowie taste. and we all know that have had it. that it ends with a full caramel/toffee profile with good crisp body.

Start steeping the grains for approximately 30 minutes. all the while steeping it like it was a tea bag in and out of the water to release the sugars and the flavors into your brew. keep covered while steeping to prevent any Contaminants from being introduced to your brew.

The grains have done the job well!.. I have a reusable bag, so i will put it aside for clean up. Time to add another gallon of water and start the boil.
